If You Have Time, If You Don’t Mind

2022

These mixed-media works explore the duality of past and present in connection with the aging loved ones in our lives. These relationships are often characterized by many layers of feelings and experiences, common between the two age-separated parties. Cherished faces, candid conversations, guilty goodbyes, questions of time and duty are all wrapped up in scattered minute moments.

It was my hope with these works to re-present and untangle these somewhat fractured, but golden memories with the treasured “old folks” in my own life. I also seek to facilitate dialogue about how fragmented, imperfect relationships and experiences often still foster a kind of light and wholeness in our lives - if we but give them a good look and second chance.
